Aaaaaaannndd it's 2017...

Forgive me I'm still feeling bleh from getting 6 hours of sleep within a 48 hour period. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

2016 was a bizarre year on many levels. Some people will joke it was a dumpster fire. There was a lot to process.

For me, for the most part, I believe I had a good year. It started slow, and I felt like I was just treading water the first few months. But then things started speeding up and refused to slow down. Today came at break neck speed. I did some awesome modeling gigs, obtained two jobs, and joined two comic creator groups. I technically only joined one comic community though, as they meet at the same comic shop and are related to one another. The Sketchy Bugs welcome everyone, and the Lady Bugs are just for the ladies. It's pretty nice to have some dedicated girl power time once a week. Week days I work a desk job but on weekends I go to kid parties as Darth Vader [and Rey and a few more]. It's super fun and rewarding! And I'll never let you forget I adopted a kitten.

You can see how well my 2016 goals went at the bottom of this journal. I'll start with what the plans are for the coming year.

2017 RESOLUTION...s?

I was never a resolutions kind of person, but I wanted to make them last year. This year not so much. There are simple things like reading my art books and putting together my computer and sticking with going to the gym regularly, but really there's only one thing I'm starting the year off with. I'm going to focus all my energy on this challenge:

For the next 90 days I will draw something with real effort put into it. Not those namby pamby quick sketches that take less than a minute on average that I was doing for most of 2016. Every day for 90 days [making the final day March 31st] I will either do life drawing or make one image I gave a lot of attention to, work on something I owe or has a deadline coming up, etc. And to prove I have done this I will take a bad picture with my phone and post it to my facebook daily [if I did life drawing I don't need to post everything, just one picture].

I have 3 bitch out days allowed. This means something happened and I didn't draw something with actual effort. If this happens I will hastily draw a Rick and Morty character scolding and demeaning me for failing. If I do this more than three times I fail the challenge.

Failure is not an option. If I fail this challenge, I will somehow some way in whatever capacity give $100 to Trump/his administration.

Victory is sweet. When I succeed I will plan an awesome trip to the zoo. It's been years since I've gone and I love animals. If I could figure out how to meet a tiger I would, but LA zoo isn't offering that.

2016 RESOLUTIONS

Draw something every day!    
Yeah, didn't happen. I gave forth a valiant effort though. I actually got dumped in July and became pretty depressed for a few weeks. That was the real final nail in the coffin for this resolution. I did come back with a vengeance though [drawing wise lol]. And don't you worry about me. I allowed myself to be upset and process everything. I'm very happy in life right now and have no issues being single. And my ex and I remain good friends; it ended on a respectful note.

Write more.
This was successful. It didn't happen as often as I would've liked, but since it was art deadlines that got in the way I'm fine with it.

Reading! 2016 will be full of reading.
No it wasn't, silly boots. Although I did read a ton more than in previous years. And I think I'll be getting a library card so I can get some books on tape for those long car rides I have to do for work.

I will be joining an official gym this year.
  Success! And I go pretty regularly. Except for this month due to some art stuff. Come Tuesday I'll be back at it!

I'm going to call this another success. I have to figure out a way to upload even more so there's no radio silence for months at a time since the monthly sketch dump didn't happen, but I'm ticking the success box.

Completing comic scripts and starting the comics, too.
What do you know? I did this. This here: 12 Panel Comic I didn't start with the original script, but hot damn if you aren't in for some futuristic archaeology. And I absolutely finished a script. I also made major headway with Geronimo's script, which I thought was as far as I was going to get this year.

Figure out what I want to do with my let's plays.
This really needed its own resolution, last day of 2015 self. For serious. But yeah I figured it out. At some point I will edit and prepare for upload all the footage I currently have. Then I will join Twitch and play my dang vidgea games and do some arts. People say you should dedicate your Twitch to one thing, but since I'm not trying to make money off of it I don't care. Then I either play some of the pre-recorded footage during a break, or just upload them regularly to youtube. I can't promise when this will happen since I'm so busy, but keep your fingers crossed the weekend job turns out to need me more and becomes my only job and some free time opens up. But you didn't hear that.

The general human thing.
Yeah yeah this happened in some capacity or another. It's a super boring resolution though, moving on.

Things I intend to obtain in 2016: Gym membership, a new car, a keyboard piano, and some singing lessons.
I word things weird. But hey! The only thing I don't currently have is a keyboard piano. They're expensive and I don't have any real room in my house where I could put it and it wouldn't be messed with by my kitten or five year old cousin.

I will start thinking about: Having a friend help me build my dream computer and saving up for a big beautiful cintique. [Which is actually spelled cintiq  ]
As I type I have all the parts necessary to build a computer, all I need is my buddy to help me out. We are discussing a day and time. For now I don't have room for a cintiq and I'm perfectly fine with that.
