OCT Character Sheet by DrinkTeaOrDie OCT Character Sheet by DrinkTeaOrDie
EDIT: This OCT has ended. We're sorry if you missed out, but it was such a grand adventure, who knows? We may host another one! :)

This is the character sheet that participants in :iconunknown-artists-club:’s OCT must fill out in order to audition. Information on the OCT can be found here: [link]

If you use this sheet for an OCT other than the one #Unknown-Artists-Club is hosting, please credit me in your artist's comment and send me a link so that I may see and enjoy your work. :)

If the sheet isn’t clear enough or if you have questions:

The far upper-right of the sheet, except for DA username, is for general information on your character being used for the OCT.

Front and Back are drawn images of the front and back of the competing OC.

Strength: How strong your character is.
    :bulletblack:1 Strength = Average child's strength
    :bulletblack:5 Strength = Above average man's strength
    :bulletblack:10 Strength = Super human/car lifting strength

Intelligence: How intelligent your character is. Noun; “Capacity for learning, reasoning, understanding, and similar forms of mental activity; aptitude in grasping truths, relationships, facts, meanings, etc.”
:bulletblack:1 Intelligence = Very dimwitted/Easy fooled or confused
    :bulletblack:5 Intelligence = Average man's intelligence
    :bulletblack:10 Intelligence = Extremely Intelligent/Genius

Wisdom: How wise your character is. Noun; “Knowledge of what is true or right coupled with just judgment as to action; sagacity, discernment, or insight.” It may seem somewhat similar to intelligence, but an intelligent man can lack wisdom and a wise man can lack intelligence.
    :bulletblack:1 Wisdom = Not wise/Naive
    :bulletblack:5 Wisdom = Average wisdom
    :bulletblack:10 Wisdom = Extremely wise/Very insightful

Charisma: How charismatic, influential, or persuasive your character is. You don’t need to be strong when you can convince your enemy that jumping off a cliff is a far better choice than battling you.
    :bulletblack:1 Charisma = Uncharismatic/Better off not speaking
:bulletblack:5 Charisma = Average man's charisma/Polite with average debating skills
    :bulletblack:10 Charisma = Silver tongued

Dexterity: Noun; “Skill or adroitness in using the hands or body; agility.”
:bulletblack:1 Dexterity = Not very flexible or agile/Stiff
:bulletblack:5 Dexterity = Usually moderately trained in combat/Good agility & flexibility
:bulletblack:10 Dexterity = Usually very well trained in combat/Extremely flexible & agile

Constitution: Noun; “The physical character of the body as to health, etc.” Physical fortitude. Can your character take punches all day and not quit? Are they out cold if they get nicked once? (Note: A low Constitution does not signify an unhealthy character.)
:bulletblack:1 Constitution = Can take very few punches
    :bulletblack:5 Constitution = Average man's constitution
:bulletblack:10 Constitution = Can take punches all day

Weapons/Inventory: What your character has on them. Do they travel light or do they carry a heavy trunk full of health packs and camping supplies and a few weapons? And don’t forget ammo.

Personality: Lets us get to know your character better. This will probably be most helpful for the opponent battling your OC.

Strengths & Abilities: What is your character good at? What special attacks (if any) can they do? You can make a list or write a few sentences, whatever you prefer.

Weaknesses: What is your character bad at? Are they a little slow? Poor at blocking punches? Easily distracted by a pretty face? Again you can list or write a few sentences (same goes for Background and Other).

Background: Where does your OC come from? Do they have a large family? Living in riches? Are they impoverished? Were left abandoned as a child? Let us know.

Other: Anything you’d like to mention that you feel couldn’t be listed elsewhere in the character sheet. A good example of what could go here is a raccoon your OC always travels with (or something).

Hopefully that answers any questions you have. If not feel free to ask, and
if you want an example of a filled out sheet you can find it here: [link]

Oh, by the way! I loved this thing very much, it's done if not perfectly, then better then any other such things at DA. Though I didn't make it to the OCT, can I still use it as a charsheet? With all the credits, of course (I'm too lazy to do that myself, gah... :P)

I'm currently thinking about joining this OCT, there's just one thing bugging me. I don't think an OC can be measured in numerical values. In my opinion the main point deciding if you let a character enter should be the storytelling ability of the author and the proficiency of the artist (even when they are the same person, as it is in my case :)).
I understand that you use them primarily to keep "god-characters" out and give people a point of reference, but I don't think that a good storyteller will be able to fill those in, as they would be changing in context.

If I was to enter, would It be crucial for me to fill those in? Because I really don't want to. :P

It's true that using the number system can help expose "god characters", but that is not the primary reason why we have them. The primary reason is that it makes the creator think deeper about their character as a whole and cam show on what level the character is developed.

If the creator cannot give us these numbers we have to question if they would be able to give us an interesting contest entry each round.

And as with everything in life [resumes, job applications, and the like] we will be looking for reasons to say no first. It's much easier to decline a submission, especially in the beginning of judging. If we looked at an OCT sheet that didn't have these numbers it would almost definitely be branded "incomplete" and cast aside.

I understand your point but cannot agree with it completely. A good writer should be able to develop a character without resorting to numbers. And not using them doesn't mean that the character isn't thought through. I'd use the description of the character to evalute physical and psychological traits and the personality, but that's just my opinion.

Alright. If I join I will fill the numbers in - don't want to hinder myself from the beginning.

*sneaks in a comment*

I think of the numbers as a way for me to compare my own character versus whatever I'll be facing.

Yeah, but it should be obvious from the descriptions, in my opinion.
Also, when your character has lower "stats", than who you're facing, you're still trying to conceive a situation in which he could still beat his/her opponent. So they don't matter more to me, than what the writer tells me and the artist shows me about their OC's.

It's just so we know what your character's preference is. If it was used in an OCT and your character was an overly flirtatious homosexual man, the person battling your OC could possibly write some funny dialogue between him and their straight male character.

If/when you fill it out I'd love to see it! :D

So want to enter this. MOJO WILL BE A TRAVELING COMPANION!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, if the traveling companion is not human but may still play a part in winning a competition, is a seperate character sheet still needed?

I'd like to do this tournament, but I haven't the slightest clue how to put my OC on the template because of the color.
I use a pencil so i can't just make another layer, can someone help me with this?
