Several months later...

          Ember, now a year older, sat on a bench in her backyard and watched the sky. She heard a rustling in the tree above her head and she turned to see the cause of the noise. The same friendly looking calico cat she had seen in the graveyard tree on her way to Creon’s castle greeted her. She then heard a meow beside her. A wise looking green-eyed cat stared at her. The calico hopped down from the tree and landed beside the green-eyed cat. She noticed the calico had a scar on its left ear. Ember smiled at the both of them. The calico cat purred and rubbed against the little girl’s hand for attention, while the green-eyed cat simply sat and observed the girl. Ember patted the calico cat on the head and said simply, “You guys would have cute kittens.”
          The calico cat meowed. The green-eyed cat growled and slapped the girl across the face gently; it did not use its claws. The two cats ran in the opposite direction of Ember. She watched them leave. She knew who they were. The little girl looked into the sky and remembered the last words Zoiyendetra ever said to her, “Until we meet again.”
