Bourgeois Splash Page

A splash page is supposed to be filled with several drawings of the characters interacting with one another so we get a feel for their personalities and how they act towards one another, but I sure ran out of time and only got this one finished. However, and despite its many anatomical errors, it is one of my favorite illustrations I did for this project.

In this image, Ember sobs over the death of her parents. Zoiyendetra and Dedric have been assigned as her temporary guardians until further notice, and despite Zoiyendetra greatly disliking this fact she is still human and goes to console the child. She begins to cry at the sight of the crying girl and the loss of two friends (Ember's parents).
